Amakye Dede Was the One at fault – Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene has damned critics for saying he doesn't deserve the highlife crown Amakye Dede vouchsafed to him during the 2019 VGMAs.
Kuami Eugene said that he did not beg or force the legendary singer to crown him, out of his own will he acted.
He added that it is disrespectful to Amakye Dede for people to say that he Kumai Eugene forced Amakye Dede to give him the crown.

According to him, Amakye Dede out of his own free will gave him the crown and told him to hold it very well to which he gave thanks.
Responding to suggestions that Kuami Eugene is too young to be crowned the king of highlife because he has only recently started gaining recognition in the industry, he stated that if he did not deserve the crown, there is no way someone like Amakye Dede would waste his time to give it to him.
He also added that, Ghanaians do not value the contributions of young people and are waiting for him to die before they sing his praises.
