Ghana will host Beyoncé's vocal effect (fx) engineer Carl Golembeski (USA) in the first-ever Ghana International Music Clinic under the theme "Professionalism in vocal fx for live music performances" scheduled for November, 2019 in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. The event is called a Clinic because it will diagnose musical problems and prescribe solutions in a practical workshop setting.

Speaking at the Executive launch of the Ghana International Music Clinic, Nii Armah Addy, Founder of the Institute of Professional Event Management (IPEM), organisers of the event said that "what is lacking in Ghanaian music is their inability to translate studio excellence into real live music performance to give their audience amazing experience at shows." Nii lamented that "Ghanaian musicians spend so much time and money in the studio to produce excellent tracks yet same quality of sound is not felt in their live performances." He continued "in these days that the sale of CDs has gone very low, musicians' ability to perform well in live concert is what endears them to show organisers and audience."

The Ghana International Music Clinic is the solution to translate studio experience into real live performances in all genres of music. Participants at the event will see, touch and feel hands-on demonstration by the facilitator Carl Golembeski.

For the past four (4) years, Carl has worked as Beyoncé's Vocal Fx engineer developing a system to take her studio fx seamlessly into a live sound environment for real time control. Carl is a sound artist, vocal fx engineer and music producer in various sonic territories. Most of his career has been in the form of live sound. He has toured the world with artists such as Bruno Mars, Carlinhos Brown, and Mary J. Blige. He has served organisations like Ram Dass LSR Foundation and Joseph Campbells Audio Archives.

His passion lies in the discovery of sound itself which has led him on a universal sonic journey in pursuit of
the intersection of harmony, love and truth.
CarI's approach to music currently is what he calls "creativity as service" placing the art form and its
expression as the priority over the industry standards like deadlines, budgets and marketing. His recent
collaboration with Brazilian artist RAAE was blossomed from this approach.

Its been almost five years since the disappearance of one of Ghana’s greatest singers in the industry Castro aka Underfire real name Theopilius Tagoe and Ghanaians have been wondering when he would return together with his alleged girlfriend Janet Bandu.

According to the actor who was speaking in an interview with Ghpage TV revealed that Castro was an initial cast for Junka Town the movie that shot him(Too Much) to fame but Castro failed to shot his part in the movie because he said he was in South Africa shooting a music video for Sarkodie’s ‘Adonai’.

He continued that is was on his return from South Africa that he went to chill with Asamoah Gyan and never returned but he knows that Castro is not dead and believes he is on low battery and would come out when he has a full battery.

It was reported that Castro and Janet went on a Jet Ski ride and since then efforts by a combined search team comprising the Ghana Navy, Marine Police, local fisher-folks and professional lifeguards could not find his body.

There were speculations that the two had drowned but no eyewitness account has confirmed that theory.

The Police service has stated that Castro and Janet can’t be declared dead until seven years of their disappearance.

Radio Djs in the Eastern Region seems not to be content with the quality of songs their artistes produces hence they keep playing foreign artiste's songs other than their own.

Gideon Ofori, a blogger from the East had launched a campaign on social media to call the attention of the Eastern Region's djs to play more of their artistes songs with a hashtag #Play80percentEastern.

According to him, this campaign was to see more of Eastern Region artistes songs dominating the Eastern waves in order to promote talents ftom the East.

Reacting to this campaign, most of radio Djs in the East have registered their reason of not playing much from the East stating that, "Eastern region artistes do not produce quality songs which worth their airtime".

Under one of his campaign post, Kobby Slim, one among the best radio djs and presenters in the East who works with KTU readio had registered that, before we campaign for 80% Eastern on our waves, the artistes are the first to be advised to produce quality songs with good contents to be played on air.

Kobby Slim furthered on to say that, he stands for good music no matter the genre or artiste but until you produce quality music, you dont deserve his time.

Before that, draw 80% of the artistes attention to making quality standard songs with sensible contents... No DJ would want to play some poor standard song with weak lyrics or excuse me to say "No sense"... There are only few artistes doing the right and trust me they are enjoying the air plays.... For me i stand to the fact that, I will only play good music regardless the genre, the artiste or the any other reason... Listeners have their taste and the main reason is to satisfy them, not neccessarily promote the the artist... If you have good music, you definitely will get the air play, until then, I play 100% good music regardless the genre, the country, and the artist - KOBBY SLIM

It was an assured display from Cristiano Ronaldo and co., although Santos was eager to praise the team as a whole after they overpowered Ronaldo Koeman's side in Porto. The competition itself raised eyebrows when it was first announced, however, Santos lauded the tournament for its ability to bring Europe together, stating the Nations League will become a 'classic'.

Bra Kofi is arguably the best promoter in terms of sharing his airtime with songs composed by artiste in Koforidua and it's surroundings.

In 2018, the hard work of Action DJ attracted a nomination from Eastern Region Media Excellence Awards as an uncovered Personality of the year and also promoter of the year by Eastern Music Awards.

He currently play as test DJ for TASTE fm since their return on air after their technical generated off air 'fallow period'.

He loves to laugh and loved to tease. But beyond all, he is just simple and a caring person.

FIFA has confirmed it conducted a forensic audit on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and found no acts of corruption or financial impropriety on Kwesi Nyantakyi during his tenure.

The third edition of the Eastern Region Media Excellence Awards (ERMEA) was launched on, June 05, 2019 at the Linda Dor Restaurant in Koforidua.
The occasion was attended by many Personalities, Stakeholders and Journalists and was chaired by Maxwell Kudekor, President of the Eastern Region Ghana Journalist Association – GJA.
It was revealed that the third edition of the awards is aimed at 'bridging the gap between the media personalities and their audience in influencing societal development.'

It’s bad news for hipsters but men with beards harbour more germs in their whiskers than dogs carry in their fur, scientists say.
The alarming news follows a study that found every sampled beard was crawling with bacteria, and nearly half had bugs that were hazardous to human health.
By contrast, a number of dogs tested proved to have lower levels of microbes. Now men have been left bristling with fury, with claims that the results stem from pogonophobia – the irrational fear of beards.

In the study, scientists wanted to discover whether there was a risk that humans might pick up a dog-borne disease from an MRI scanner that was also used for examinations by vets. Researchers took swabs from the beards of 18 men and the necks of 30 dogs, across a range of breeds, and compared the results.
Professor Andreas Gutzeit, of Switzerland’s Hirslanden Clinic, said: ‘The researchers found a significantly higher bacterial load in specimens taken from the men’s beards compared with the dogs’ fur.’ The study found all of the bearded men, aged from 18 to 76, showed high microbial counts, but only 23 out of 30 dogs had high counts. The remainder had moderate levels.
Seven men were even found to harbour microbes that posed a threat to human health.
After the MRI exams of the dogs, the scanners were disinfected and showed a ‘significantly’ lower bacteria count compared with levels seen when used by humans.

‘On the basis of these findings, dogs can be considered as clean compared with bearded men,’ said Dr Gutzeit.
But Keith Flett, founder of the Beard Liberation Front, which opposes discrimination against the hirsute, cast doubt on the report.
‘I think it’s possible to find all sorts of unpleasant things if you took swabs from people’s hair and hands and then tested them,’ he said. ‘I don’t believe that beards in themselves are unhygienic.
‘There seems to be a constant stream of negative stories about beards that suggest it’s more about pogonophobia than anything else.

Since then, Boye has been one of the most consistent Ghanaian players and is currently one of the senior players that Coach Kwesi Appiah will be counting on in Egypt.

The 32-year-old will approach the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with confidence, having helped French side Metz gain promotion to the Ligue 1 in the just ended season.

In recent years, the Black Stars have lacked commanding defenders but John Boye’s style has been very endearing. Despite not boasting the fight and vigor of legends like Samuel Kuffour and John Mensah, Boye is still a unique talent and has goals in his game.

In over 60 international games, the defender has scored six times, including one which helped Ghana get past the 2015 AFCON group stages.

The Metz rearguard is regarded by many as a late blossomer, but those who monitored his progress as a teenager would know that he has always been destined for greatness.

Boye began his football career with the Hearts of Lions academy in Ghana. He joined the club’s youth team in 2005 when he was just 18, and soon broke into the first team.

After just a year playing in the Ghana Premier League, the defender impressed scouts from Ligue 1 side Rennes who signed him on loan. But after impressing in France, the hierarchy of Rennes had no option than to make the move permanent and even went on to promote him to their senior team.

Boye played for the French side from 2011 to 2014, making 74 appearances in all competitions and contributing three goals in the process. His strong performances in that period earned him a place in Ghana’s 2012 AFCON squad, where the country finished fourth.

The defender again played a key role as the Black Stars qualified for a third successive World Cup in 2014, making all three appearances as Ghana exited at the group stages.

The centre-back went on to play for Turkish lower-tier side Kayseri Erciyesspor for a season, before joining Sivasspor in the Superlig for the for the next three years.

While his move to Metz in the summer of 2018 was deemed as retrogression, the Ghanaian has since been a mainstay in the team, helping them regain promotion to the Ligue 1. In fact, Boye was the one who scored the winning goal in a 2-1 away win over Red Star – the game ultimately confirmed Metz’s return to the French topflight.

As the Black Stars go to Egypt to take on the rest of Africa, there is no doubt that Boye will be crucial to the team’s target.

He may not be a John Mensah or Sammy Kuffour, but Boye has been one of the most reliable players for the Black Stars in recent years, and his rise is no fluke.
